We are committed to using research proven protocols while incorporating state-of-the-art technology interventions into clinical practice. We are also committed to presenting what we have learned and adding to society’s share of knowledge. We have, presented at a variety of conferences, and published numerous posters and articles about this emerging technology field. Along with our many collaborators, we have helped move forward the science of technology support for self-management and behavior change..
We continue to innovate and research along many related areas.
1. Extending the technology of behavior change and self-management: We continue to innovate and evolve our core technology, the Behavior Change Suite™. We have extended the interactions to integrated experiences on the web, and mobile devices and modelled the complicated, dynamic workflows of clinical pathways. We evaluate each new feature and functionality for its impact on patient engagement and improved health outcomes.
2. Tailoring and personalizing user experience: DPS Health is pushing the state-of-the-art in terms of tailoring and personalization based on user characteristics, performance on key behaviors and over time. An example of this commitment is our three-year old collaboration with researchers at the University of Waterloo. Together, we are researching technology to build and deliver a computerized method to modify the langague in a behavior change intervention messages based on the user’s characteristics, performance and indentified challenges.
3. Predicting and measuring patient engagement: DPS Health’s proprietary, patent-pending technology predict’s a patient’s future level of engagement based on an individual’s demographics and prior performance on key behaviors. These methods will be used to customize a person’s experience and increase their likelihood of long-term success. Dr. Adam Kaufman, presented this approach to predicting ongoing engagement at the 2010 Care Continuum Aliance conference. 4. Enhancing clinician-patient interactions: We understand that clinicians play a key role in supporting behavior change and self-management. Effective programs efficiently involve clinicians to monitor patient progress, provide support and motivate change. DPS Health has committed significant energy and resources to understanding the clinician role in supporting patients. We endeavor to provide ongoing education and support to clinicians and to ensure that our technology enhances their clinical practices. |
