Overview

VLM is a revolutionary, online weight management program that helps your overweight adult patients learn and adopt new healthy behaviors. VLM helps you help your patients help themselves.

We know that there are just not enough hours in the day to cost-effectively educate, motivate and support all of your overweight and sedentary patients in their efforts to lose weight and improve their health. With VLM, your patients have everything they need to successfully manage their weight and adopt new, healthier behaviors. With VLM you can now treat a large numbers of people in less time and at lower staffing levels.

Over a 12-month period, users on VLM will take lessons and complete workbooks as well as plan and track their physical activities and nutritional intake. All clinicians on the care team will have 24/7 online access to summaries and graphs of each patient’s progress, as well as the entire patient population.

VLM is unlike any other online weight loss program. VLM, developed with funding from the US Department of Defense, is the only online program based on the landmark Diabetes Prevention Program’s (DPP) lifestyle intervention. The DPP is a proven-effective, in-person weight management approach developed by faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and funded by a federal research grant from the National Institutes of Health.
